Last night marked an important event for Paraco Gas as we joined forces with the Middlesex County Hazmat team and the Borough of South Plainfield Fire Department for a joint safety walk-through of our South Plainfield Facility.
From 6:30pm to 9:30pm, team members had the opportunity to explore various areas of our facility, including the building, yard, pump house, electrical room, solar installation, and loading dock. What made this walk-through unique was that it occurred while Paraco was in full operation, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of our safety protocols in action.
Special emphasis was placed on the safety equipment and procedures implemented throughout the facility. We were particularly honored when the Chief of the Fire Department remarked, “This is the cleanest and most organized facility I have been to in my 40 years in the department.”
In addition to the walk-through, Paraco has committed to conducting two fire drills annually when plant operations are not in effect, further enhancing preparedness for emergencies.
Following the event, team members gathered for food and a Q&A session, fostering camaraderie and reinforcing the importance of safety within our organization.
Overall, the success of this safety walk-through reinforces our dedication to maintaining a safe and secure environment for our team members and the community. We eagerly anticipate the upcoming fire drills in the fall and remain committed to continuous improvement in all aspects of our operations.
