The Pat Armentano Legacy Award, a prestigious recognition award Paraco formally launched in 2017 to celebrate Paraco employees who best personify the core values and culture fostered by Paraco’s founder, Pat Armentano; was presented to its second year’s recipient, Will Fabrizio, Production Manager, during Paraco’s 2018 Leadership Conference at Gurney’s Montauk in Montauk, New York on Thursday, September 20th.
The Award was designed to honor employees who demonstrate the aspiring, exemplary characteristics Pat lived and breathed throughout his own life: treating others with respect; safety before profits; a strong work ethic with focus on self-improvement; and giving back to the communities in which we live and serve. Support for Will’s nomination include nominators’ attestation of his “grit and determination which stand alone among employees … [tackling] challenges with an even-keeled approach and a ‘no problems, only solutions’ attitude”; broad respect by peers, subordinates and senior management alike; and exemplary mentorship providing leadership and inspiration.
Will’s career history at Paraco has been impressive. Starting as a part time yard employee in October 2012, he advanced to a full time yard position during the 2012-2013 winter season. A hard working, bright and loyal employee, Will entered Paraco’s Apprenticeship program as a service technician apprentice.
In the Fall of 2013, Will became a full-fledged certified service technician for the Connecticut region. Will’s management potential was quickly recognized, leading him to receive several promotions between 2014 and today. Instrumental in the successful launch and operation of Paraco’s Waterbury, CT Cylinder Refurbishing Facility, Will now serves as Production Manager, currently overseeing 38 employee and a facility that enables production of over 1.3 million units annually; and allows Paraco to maintain control over its product quality while keeping costs competitive within the market.
