Ashland-based F M Popovich & Sons, Inc. has joined Paraco Gas. The Popovich family business was founded by Fred and Wilma Popovich in 1946 and grew to serve approximately 850 propane customers.
Paraco is also a family-owned and operated business that has been servicing Worcester County, MA since 2007. Paraco acquired the Popovich business on October 14, 2020, as owners Fred and Hildegard Popovich retired.
“Paraco had been serving Worcester County with propane product for over a decade,” said Fred Popovich, President at F M Popovich & Sons, Inc. “They already know our customers’ needs and our supply demands very well, so this will be an easy and seamless transition.”

Paraco Gas immediately implemented strict policies and equipment at the onset of COVID-19 in the United States and continues to uphold those health and safety standards. This includes providing all frontline employees with PPE such as gloves and masks; sanitizing hands, vehicles and all equipment regularly; staggering start times for field employees; providing the ability to clock in-and-out on a mobile app so employees can practice social distancing and reduce multiple contacts with the time clocks; and an initiative to eliminate as much use and touching of hardcopy paper as possible.
