Paraco Encourages Community Members to Make a Power Play for National Propane Day

Celebrate propane, a reliable and affordable energy option, on October 7, 2026

(October 5, 2026) – Paraco and the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) are recognizing National Propane Day on October 7, 2026, as an opportunity to raise awareness of propane’s many benefits and how it keeps local communities running. As part of this year’s theme, “Your Power Play with Paraco: Propane That Powers Our Communities,” Paraco is highlighting propane’s reliability, affordability, and essential role in powering homes, businesses, and critical services.

“Propane plays a vital role in powering our communities, from supporting everyday comfort at home to essential operations for local businesses,” stated Christina Armentano, President.  “Across every region we serve, families and businesses count on propane for reliable, flexible energy that keeps life moving. We are committed to delivering dependable solutions that support our customers today and help build more resilient communities for tomorrow.”

Millions of Americans rely on propane for heat, hot water, cooking, power generation, and more. As a reliable, safe, affordable, and low-carbon energy source, propane supports a wide range of uses, including vehicle fleets, farms, ports, hospitals, and other commercial and residential applications.

“Propane is uniquely positioned to solve many of the energy issues our country is facing today,” said Tucker Perkins, president and CEO of PERC. “As power outages become more frequent and energy costs remain a key concern for many families and businesses, propane provides a practical, attainable solution for consistent and affordable power. Propane can also work alongside other energy sources like solar and wind to reduce our dependence on the electric grid.”

As demand on America’s aging electric grid continues to increase, propane offers a reliable energy solution. Because propane is stored on-site, it provides energy independent of the electric grid or natural gas lines, giving home and business owners peace of mind that they will always have power for essential operations.

Propane is also supported by a strong supply. Each year, America produces over 800 million barrels of propane, helping to meet domestic needs while also supporting global energy markets. This abundant, domestic supply has contributed to propane’s historical price stability compared with gasoline and diesel, which are more directly tied to global oil market volatility.

“As we continue working toward greater energy resilience, efficiency, and healthier communities, propane has an important role to play,” Perkins said. “On National Propane Day, and every other day, propane offers a reliable, affordable, and cleaner energy option. It truly is the Energy for Everyone.” More information can be found at propane.com.
