Joseph Armentano, CEO Honored for Dedication to the Community

Paraco’s very own CEO, Joe Armentano was honored by The Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon with the 2019 Leadership Award at their annual Gala in New Rochelle, NY on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, in recognition of his ongoing leadership and years of dedicated service in the Westchester community. Actively involved in civic and professional organizations as well as several not-for-profits, Joe prides himself on giving back to the communities Paraco serves, donating to many philanthropic organizations.

The Armentano family’s roots began in Mount Vernon where both Joe and his father Pat were born, also where Pat founded Paraco Gas in 1968 with the company’s beginnings as a distributor of welding supplies and industrial gases.  Joe attended grammar school at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel before the family moved to Yonkers.

Paraco has been a member of the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce for over 40 years, the recipient of the Spirit Award for its commitment to the community and the businesses it serves.  In 1988, Paraco opened its second propane plant in Mount Vernon, a key distribution location for its customers in the five boroughs of New York City.

Today, Paraco is the largest privately held propane company in the Northeast and ranked as the 10th largest propane company by LP Gas Magazine.
