Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce, Naugatuck, CT – Duck Day Race & Festival
In support of more than 60 non-profit organizations, Paraco sponsored Duck Day, a family fun event attracting thousands of people from the greater Waterbury region. Attendees launched 20,000 rubber ducks into the Naugatuck River for the famous annual duck race. Festivities included vendors and crafts, games, and live entertainment. The Paraco team was also onsite as a Corporate Tent Sponsor and had the opportunity to meet several Paraco customers and potential new customers at our booth! A special shout-out and kudos to Angel Pagan and his family for creating a fabulous and creative Duck, which we think should have worn the race! Also, a special thanks to Jon Broad and Joe Roggio for volunteering their time and expertise!

Filling in the Blanks, Norwalk, CT – Pack the Bag Event
Paraco partnered with Filling in the Blanks, a non-profit organization committed to fighting childhood hunger. Paraco donated funds to fill meal bags to ensure children in Fairfield and Westchester counties have fuel in the form of food to keep them nourished this summer. The Paraco team from our Waterbury, CT facility was eager to help, so they joined the assembly line and got packing! The meal bags were filled with pasta, tomato sauce, fruit cups, chocolate milk, yogurts, apple sauce, oatmeal, granola, and crackers and will provide 1,440 meals to feed food insecure children. The meal bags were delivered to community centers, camps, and programs across the two counties and then distributed to children who needed to take them home for the weekend, so they didn’t go hungry.

A quote from Tara, Filling in the Blanks co-founder, says, “everyone was so engaging, efficient and overall wonderful. This was a record for our organization – 20 volunteers packing 360 meal bags in less than one hour! It was incredible to watch such an organized effort, the comradery between the group, and their genuine concern for the children’s welfare.”

We sincerely thank Paraco’s Waterbury employees for their participation and enthusiasm. Your help was so important to our project! Team Members:  Will Fabrizio, Angel Pagan, Michael Levesque, Kelly Delaney, Charles McLeod, Jerry Van Antwerp, Jaime Ocasio, Jose Sanchez, Nelson Guzman, Terrell Moore, Nashsia Cohen, Stephen Gilbe, Hakeem Green, Lamont Nunez, Robert Girardin, Theodore Ridgeway, Joe Roggio.

Paraco supports another commercial customer and its mission to save the lives of our youth! In support of the Beck Family, Paraco sponsored the annual memorial – helping to raise funds for Tri-County Community Partnership. This non-profit organization raises awareness of alcohol and drug use risks through prevention, youth prevention, family support, and drug dependency reduction programs. Adventure and thrill-seekers paddled down the Wallkill River in their kayaks and canoes in a competitive 5.1-mile race in memory of Brock Haney & Ethan Beck. As a “Paddle Sponsor,” Paraco provided lots of swag items for the participants, including Paraco sunglasses, T-shirts, and cooling towels.

Boys & Girls Club, Mount Vernon, NY – Lunch & Learn Event
Paraco’s CEO, and Author, Joe Armentano, presented the Boys & Girls Club with a donation of $10,000 from the proceeds of his recently released book, A Helluva Ride. The funds will help support many youth programs the Boys & Girls Club offers to many children in the community. At a special Lunch and Learn event, eighty-five children of the summer camp program, ages 6-12, gathered in the Gym for a Pizza Party and to meet Joe and the Paraco Team. The children were both captivated and inspired while listening to Joe speak about his many life lessons. Joe interacted with the children during a Q&A session and stressed the importance of education, attaining self-confidence, and gaining valuable experiences that make them independent and self-sufficient. The event concluded with various hand-outs for the children – including backpacks, crayons, and fun activity books. All the attendees enjoyed an afternoon filled with fun, encouragement, and inspiration.

A special thank you to Joe Armentano for his generosity and unwavering support in helping make a difference in the lives of the children in our community. Also, thanks to Paula Saraiva and Lindsey Stansfield for volunteering their time and help in organizing a most inspiring event!
