It’s just a fact: propane can take your winter from good to great.
Propane is one of the most convenient, versatile, and clean fuels around, and its outdoor applications allow you to spend more good times outside even when the temperature drops.
Fire pits, outdoor lighting, patio heaters, cooking, yard work, and hearths all have a role to play in a cozy winter. Plus, propane’s efficiency and reliability make it the perfect fuel source for your home’s outdoor areas and activities.
Outdoor Cooking: Don’t “winterize” your grill too quickly! Firing up your propane grills and smokers is safely a year-round activity. And don’t forget about tailgate parties, an all-American cold-weather tradition.
Hearths, Fire Pits & Heaters: Cold nights can’t stop you from enjoying time outdoors with propane appliances at the ready. Your pal propane will keep you warm all season long and allow you to savor time outdoors even when there’s winter weather.
Propane hearths, patio heaters, and fire pits provide plenty of ambiance while being low maintenance and not requiring constant cleanup, the way wood fires do. You can even get them started from inside with remotely controlled models! That means you get to enjoy your warming fire and leave the other maintenance stuff behind. No buying and lugging firewood for you!
With so many different models, you can find a unit that’s perfect for your needs and get the most out of your backyard with the least amount of effort — just convenience and comfort.
Tips for Safer Parties This Winter
Parties continue to be a little different while living with the COVID-19 pandemic, but staying on the safe side means you can still enjoy them. Here are some tips for throwing safe, fun, outdoor winter parties!
Good ventilation: Keeping space between people and masks are your best defense against the COVID-19 virus and most airborne other viruses. Being outdoors makes it easier to socially distance while still maintaining the ability to safely have fun, whether it’s watching a game or chatting together. Having a propane outdoor heater, firepit, etc. can keep the temperature comfortable and create a lovely atmosphere.
Small gatherings: It still may be wise to consider smaller groups instead of having large parties. Consider the peace of mind that would come from hosting one or two other families you know are being just as safe and taking the same precautions as you.
And don’t count out doing video chats with people who can’t be there!
Use disposables: Consider the placement of your outdoor heater, drink cooler, trash receptacle, tables, and chairs. Make sure there’s enough room around high-traffic areas without being on top of each other. Make sure you have plenty of disposable cups, plates, utensils, and paper napkins at the ready.
And don’t forget to supply disinfectant wipes and/or alcohol-based hand sanitizer for your and your guests’ use!
It’s also a good idea to consider keeping additional disposable masks on hand for guests who may want to wear one but forgot their own.
Food: Freshly-cooked meats and grilled veggies directly off your propane grill are safe, but avoid having large bowls of party mix that multiple people could be dipping their hands into.
And of course, make sure your propane tanks are filled all season long so that you can spend time in the great outdoors worry-fee.
