October 6, 2025 – Paraco News
We’re proud to share some exciting news: for the third year in a row, the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) has selected Paraco to help lead the celebration of National Propane Day.
This year, Paraco served as the official propane sponsor of a featured TV segment that aired on Fox & Friends and Fox Weather on Sunday, October 5, as part of PERC’s Prepare with Propane campaign. The broadcast reached millions of viewers nationwide, shining a spotlight on propane as a safe, reliable, versatile, and clean energy source.
We’re grateful to our partners at FW Webb, Ray Murray, Connecticut Appliance and Fireplace Distributors, and Torrco for helping make this incredible opportunity possible. Together, we’re bringing propane’s benefits into the national conversation and highlighting the role our industry plays in powering homes, businesses, farms, and communities.
Propane Fast Facts
Here are just a few reasons why propane is worth celebrating on National Propane Day and every day:
- Propane is Versatile
Nearly 50 million U.S. households use propane for heating, cooking, hot water, and backup power. It also fuels forklifts, buses, trucks, farm equipment, and more. - Propane is Clean
Recognized under the Clean Air Act as a clean energy alternative, propane produces up to 50% fewer greenhouse gases than coal and 38% fewer than fuel oil, helping reduce emissions without sacrificing performance. - Propane is American-Made
More than 90% of propane is produced domestically, primarily as a byproduct of natural gas processing, supporting local jobs and strengthening U.S. energy independence. - Propane Powers Agriculture
Farmers depend on propane to dry grain, heat barns and greenhouses, and fuel irrigation engines, keeping America’s food supply chain efficient and reliable. - Propane is Safe
Propane is one of the most closely regulated fuels, with strict safety standards, industry training, and a distinctive odorant that makes leaks easy to detect. - Propane is Efficient
Appliances like propane furnaces, tankless water heaters, and dryers often perform more efficiently than electric alternatives, saving energy and lowering costs. - Propane is Reliable
In January 2025, U.S. propane consumption reached its highest winter level since 2007, underscoring its role as a dependable, all-weather fuel that works even when the power grid goes down.
