Tank "Butler"
What is the Tank Butler?
The equipment consists of two pieces. The first piece, the transmitter, connects directly to your propane tank.
The second piece, the receiver, connects to a phone jack inside your home.
How does the Tank Butler work?
The transmitter monitors your tank level. It transmits the level to the receiver in your home. At set intervals, the receiver calls our data center and lets them know how much propane you have in your tank. When your tank is low, we will arrange a propane delivery.
Will the Tank Butler interrupt my telephone calls?
No.
The receiver knows when you're on the phone, so it will not interrupt your call. The receiver will wait until you are not using the phone before making a call to Paraco's data center.
Do the telephone calls cost me anything?
Not at all.
The calls are made to a toll-free number at Paraco's data center.
What happens if I pick up my phone while the unit is calling in?
The monitor has been designed to recognize when you pick up the receiver while it is dialing in and it will break the connection so you will get a normal dial tone. The unit will complete the connection later.
Where should I put the receiver?
It does have to be plugged into a phone jack and many people put it in the kitchen or a guest bedroom. It can share a phone line with an answering machine or a modem with no interference.
Can I move the Tank Butler?
Yes. It can be relocated anywhere there is a phone jack and power from a 120-volt outlet.
Does the Tank Butler make any noise?
No. The receiver works in silence. |
